My wife is going to freak if she sees one of these in the yard.

She's already been traumatized by a Frog in the toilet!!! I caught it and took it outside only to find it in the Shower the following morning!!! I've been told they like to climb the roof and get into the Vent pipes on the roof. I screened those and took the frog to work one morning 10 miles away and let the little guy go in the pond.

Looks like a black racer. You don't want to try to catch or corner the little guy. They put up a heck of a fight and bite hard but aren't poisonous . If it was a baby it would be marked with blotchy brown, red and dark gray. The great part about them is they eat all the critters in the yard that you don't need.

The garder snake has a different body shape, not as round as the black snake, and also has a kinda yellow stripe running down it's back.
