Hi,

I own a condo in Punta Gorda, but keen on buying a 2-3/2 condo in Tampa. Any suggestions for a condo in a good neighbourhood for 50k - 110k? No short sales please. I love city life and viby areas, but low crime.

What areas are good to buy in and what areas should I avoid?

50K to 110K is a pretty wide price range? Doubt if you will find a good 3/2 in a good neighbourhood for that price particularly if it's not distressed. 3/2 here where I am for good locale is at least $180K Tampa is prob similar. There are less expensive ones, but they will be hard resales and maybe not good physically/structurally and in a place where you would want to be long term - hence their prices. The good ones are selling for more than your budget I fear. You may find something. If you want to benefit from tax credit you need to be closing soon. Unless govt extends that one.

check out the feather sound area. i have a condo that i own advertised very low under market price on craigslist. it's not a short sale. i think you might like it. also the riverview area, i can only speak about what i know and these are 2 areas i am very familiar with. riverview is very close to everything, yet, far enough away from everything.
