Im down in the area for the weekend looking at houses in riverview to rent. I have gone through realtors to look at some houses. Do i need to worry about the homes being in preforeclosure?! or would the realtor advise me?

That is called a short sale and in most cases will mean you buy "as is".

Make sure you buy it with a clean title, so you won't inherit any liens.

Any "good" realtor will tell you all you need to know....but not all realtors are "good" so do your self some due diligence and interview a few realtors and see who you think will be the best for you.

You need to do your due diligence. This will help you. Oh and the answer to your question... yes.

It's better to go through a realtor when it comes to private rentals. This way you can ask the realtor to check the systems and they can let you know. There are lots of homes out here that are in forclosure or pre-forclosure. I work in the apartment industry and I just moved in someone who had to move out because his landlord was getting forclosed on.

yes and also be careful and make sure that these ppl really own the house because I know someone who rented a house and then he found out that the ppl who rented the house did not own it and now he has to move out with three dogs and he does not really know where he is going to go . I just found out a couple of days ago he is fine , he is moving in with his sister in pensacola but still that is a way for him to move . 3 hrs one way . and now he has to get another job somewhere . this mess creates alot of problems . go through a realtor you will be glad you did .
