We have three dogs and the only place we found was Wildwood Acres which I wasn't too impressed with. That was two years ago thought so it might be better now. You should be able to rent a small house for that amount though and private landlords tend to me much more flexible with pets.

I moved here in 2008 and it was tough to find a place with 2 cats and 2 rabbits, even through private owners. I did finally find a condo in Hyde Park at @ $1400. Be prepared for a search! I'm sure you'll find something suitable, but it might take a while.

My complex allows a couple animals at a time.. and it allows larger dogs. But not that many. There was a mastiff that lived downstairs last year... A house may be your best bet... Good luck.

(PM me if you want my apt complex name... that goes for anyone... I just don't put it out there for the world...

I've been looking at housing too and it appears that most apartment complexes have a 2 pet limit (I've been scoping this out carefully because some of the pet fees are outrageous). I'd suggest looking into homes with larger acreage. Depending on which neighborhood you're willing to live in, it does seem possible to get a house that permits pets for ~$1000, but you'll also have to be prepared to pay a larger deposit.

And I've got two quiet cats, and hated that I had to pay a pet deposit... but after leaving them for a weekend, they dug the carpet out around the door. The deposit was needed. (yep, I hate being wrong.. but sometimes it's obvious.)

Check out WestChase Park Village. We're doing a 7 month lease with 2 dogs, 50lbs, 70lbs each, 2 parrots and 1 cat. 2 BDRM townhomes with gargage like $1,250/month and 3 BDRM condos about $1,375/month.
Search Tampa craigslist using "westchase park village". Doubt you will find anything less than a grand with doggies

Here ya go. They do have some in the 900 range and will accept pets and at this point they seem so desperate they may take a zoo. Don't go to craiglist. There are some, not all yoyo scammers out there. Checkout forrent dot com if URL doesn't show and search for Westchase Park Village. They have prices and apartment layouts
