If you needed proof that 85-year-old Sharon Bradley is pretty much unstoppable, there's the cast on her hand. She broke it in a fall Sunday and went to work the very next day.

"I wouldn't miss class for a broken bone," she said.

I haven't missed a full day of work for illness in 37 years. However, I'm self employed and have minimal contact with other people if I don't wish too. In other words, I'm not going to be a walking, breathing, sneezing, lump of potential infection for others.

What this teacher accomplished is admirable as to the work ethic. I find it hard to believe that there weren't days that she should not have been among the students.

As a retired HS teacher, I can assure everyone that teachers are probably the least likely source of infection in a classroom of 30 germ ridden teens.

Matter of fact, I recall a study citing school drinking fountains as THE single greatest source of spreading disease on many campuses.
