Just FYI -- there are literally
DOZENS of Linux "LiveCD" distributions out there, and some of them are quite user-friendly.
Ones I would personally recommend are:
Puppy Linux (small, light, not too technical, fits on a 210MB mini-CD)
Ubuntu (very popular, lots of software)
PCLinuxOS (polished, fairly complete)
SLAX (broken link) (small, easy to use, fits on smaller CD like Puppy)
