Does anyone here live in Lawrence County? Do you like it? What kind of jobs are available there (if any!). Do you know about how much a 3 bedroom mobile home or house costs to rent there (pet friendly)?

Thank you!

You can find houses for under $500 a month, not
including utilities, and you can find some that are
pet friendly.

Jobs??? Hmmm, you can still find jobs cooking at the nursing
homes, and maybe some factories still hire, and probably
Walmart. We don't have very many stores or restaurants, and it
seems like people get a job & keep it forever, even if it is
at entry level. Some people commute to Alabama, and the
Nashville area for work. It is hard to get ahead here, I
know so many people who are the backbone where they
work, but they are never made managers, or make the
money they deserve. They are BIG on minimum wage.

Is Lawrence County a nice place to be? Well, I guess a
town is only as good as you think it is, so if someone likes
small towns, with nothing much to do, I guess it is a nice
area. If you can afford to go towards Nashville occasionally
it makes small town life more bearable. We don't have good
sales, or deals anywhere, because there is no competition.
Things/services also cost more here than other places. TN
has high sales tax, and Lawrenceburg is trying to raise the
wheel tax again, which would make our rates as high as
Nashville & places with more job opportunities, and richer
people.

The crime rate is a bit high. IIRC, Lawrence County has the
highest meth rate in the state. As far as crime goes, it is mostly
between people who know each other, so if you stay away from
drugs & bummy people, you shouldn't be a crime victim (not including
purses being snatched from cars, and things of that nature).

Hope that helps!
