I need your opinion on Athens Regional Hospital and Sweetwater Hospital.
If anyone has had to use one of these hospitals, please let me know how you were treated. And are these hospitals good for kids also?

These two hospitals are close to our property. So just getting an emergency plan in place.

Thanks for any help.

Athens Regional Medical Center is bit bigger than Sweetwater Hospital. 118 bed vs 59 bed.

I was born at the old Epperson Hospital (now Athens Regional) but I have never gone back for anything.

I was rushed to the emergency room at the Sweetwater hospital. They had to send me back to Loudon to the now-defunct hospital. I was told that they didn't have experienced doctors on site at the time. This was about 30 years ago.

I tried to see if Sweetwater was still affiliated with East Tennessee Baptist Hospital (now Mercy) but it looks like the hospital is on its own.

If I was in the area and needed immediate attention, I would go to Athens before Sweetwater.

Thank you Brian. That's a big help.
