I have seen a few questions over the last year about whether there is a casino in the area. I can't advertise or I'd give you the name/link to the one on the reservation on the North Carolina side of the Smokies. Just do a Google search on

casino "North Carolina"

and it will be the first link that comes up.

But, that's not the reason for this post. I wanted to let some retirees (and others) who are thinking about moving to East Tennessee that there are bus trips to that casino just like where you live now and that leave from various locations in Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Clinton, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville on different days of the week. Same deal like where you live now. It costs $25 dollars and you get all but $5 of it back in coin. You have to be 21 and have a valid photo ID. It's a day trip.

There are also bus trips from the tri-cities and Chattanooga (different companies).

Since I can't advertise the names of those companies (so you can see where they pick people up and drop people off in your town) when you go to the NC casino's home page, click on Maps and Information (link on left side of homepage). On the page that comes up, click on Bus Schedules and Directions. Scroll down for the three casino tour bus companies that service East Tennessee and that casino.

If you take the name of that first company (one that services Oak Ridge, Knoxville, Maryville, Clinton, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville ), for example, and plug it into Google, you will get that tour bus company's website link in the Google results. Click on it.

On their tour bus company's home page, click on the name of the casino link and you will get a complete schedule of the days, times and pick up locations in the afore mentioned towns/cities so you can find a place near you.

If you need help finding the final schedule page, PM me.

While I have been to the casino, I haven't done the trip from Tennessee side yet so I can't comment on either the drive or the bus trip.

For the one that services the tri-cities, I did not find a website, just a telephone number. Ditto the one servicing Chattanooga.

I'm mentioning this because while some of you have expressed interest in going to the casino once you move here, the trip through the mountains (especially during tourist season) may be daunting. I just wanted to let you know there is a way to get there besides driving yourself and it's not unlike the bus trips where you live now regarding pick up locations, price and times.
