There is another flyer circulating in newspapers in FL about buying land at Stone Cliff Estates at the Big South Fork. Anyone out there who has seen the land or bought any, could you please let me know if it is (1) flat land, (2) cost per acre (3) mountanous or not (4) distance to closest facilities and anything else that you can think of that would be of interest to a newcomer. Thanking you in advance.

You can get on mapquest and see where Big South Fork National Recreation Area is located compared to other towns in the area. When you say "facilities" what exactly do you mean? Wal-Mart? A hospital with cardio facilities? It's a very beautiful area and is not flat, and it is very rural and isolated.

JMT,

Thanks for the info, I think the land would not be a good purchase if it is not flat and its isolated, by facilities I did mean nearest town for groceries, stores, schools etc. I wonder if they are going to bulldoze the land or this would be an additional cost for the buyer? I am yet to hear from someone who has actually bought there, but so far no luck. Thanks anyway and any further info. would be appreciated.

Smile I love Stone Cliff Estates

Wendy in Margate.

In response to your question about Stone Cliff Estates! I have been to the development up in Allardt TN and I love the area. The homesite are flat and you can build on 95% of the homesite property. I have purchased in Phase # 3 Lot # 59. Moderator cut: cut The area is rural still out this point, but that is what makes it beautiful. The area will continue to grow, but the area will not become all built up like Florida. The area reminds me of what Florida was in 1972 when I came to Florida with my parents. The residents up in Allardt are friendly and do not have a motive when they do something nice for you. I have had 20 friends and family go up to Stone Cliff Estate and invest in a homesite. You can get to the local Super Walmart in about 7 minutes from the homesites. Not only is the land beautiful ,but the developer put a lot time and energy to ensure this area was zoned only for residential purposes. I am tired of having a Publix, Walgreens and every other big corporation sitting there stores right up my ass. I wanted to have the ability to reach all the stores, but I wanted to travel a little distance . Crossville is 15 minutes drive south of us. Crossville has car dealerships, food stores, drug stores, movie theatre's and everything else that South Florida has to offer and more. I will make my move to Tennessee in about 3 years, when I sell my home. The market in Florida has come to a standstill, so have no choice but to wait until the market turns around. I invested for my future!!! Tell me where you can find an acre parcel for $ 25,900.00 anywhere in Florida? I am tired of paying high property taxes and homeowners insurance. I own Phase 1 Lot# 57. The only thing that worries me is that the water is not in yet. 'Do you have a handle on that? I,m going down in 2 weeks to scout out the area and perhaps look at more.

Hi, my name is Mike, my wife and I purchased a lot in section 2, lot #117, back in 2006. the last time I was on site was back in 2010. At that time the club house was started, 9 homes built or started. My friend Dan and his wife purchased a lot in section 1, lot #21. If we can get rid of Oboma, I might have a chance at retiring and building a home on are lot.
Any way, their are shopps in Allardt about 5 miles away, Walmart, Supermarket, shopps, banking etc in Jamestown 8 miles away. And everything can be found in Crossville 25miles south of the property.
