I've been there a few times in last several mos. Have a realtor looking for home/land for me. Talked to a few locals on trips there, have not been told anything really negative except Rt. 321 is going to be widened all the way to Gatlinburg= increased traffic through Cosby. I will be semi-retired, so work not a big issue. Kids grown, so school is not an issue. Just want the slower life style than central FL offers. Like to be near/on mt. Can't take anymore hurricanes, or the rat race of central FL, etc. etc. Anyone from here knows what I'm talking about, I don't have to go on and on. Any info from those knowledgeable of the area is appreciated.
