in different sports.

The Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) ended an impressive series with the top seeded Spurs with a 99-91 victory tonight, closing out the series 4-2.

The Nashville Predators (NHL) are already in the second round, and opened with a 1-0 loss to top seeded Vancouver.

Let's cheer on our Tennessee pro teams and hope they can continue their success in the uncharted territory of the second round!

And? What about both teams?

The Preds don't play hoops - so there are no threads about them in the basketball forum.

You could start one, but basketball fans might ignore it.

I like them but am not clear on why Dan Hamuis (sp?) - one of their coveted first round draft picks is with the Canucks.

nashvols --

This has been a great year to be a sports fan in Tennessee. The Grizzlies, the Predators...and don't forget all the teams we sent to the NCAA tournament in March (not great results, but at least they got there). Go, go, go Grizz and Preds.

And....Vanderbilt's baseball team is possibly the best in the NCAA - don't be surprised if they end up in Omaha playing for all the marbles.

Well, that's why I said "made the second round of the playoffs...in different sports"

Hamhuis is a good player, but he wasn't our best D (we already knew Suter and Weber were better), but he was good enough to demand more money on his contract than we could really give him.

I always hate to lose a good player -- but Hammer wasn't our best, and we know as a small market we can't keep everyone around. It's life.
