I think AT&T and Comcast. You'll have to check with them to see if your residence is hooked up or even in your area.

It happens a lot in more rural areas. People assume there is service but it is not cost effective for the companies to run the service that far out. You'd be staggered by the cost. Comcast will tell you they will go to your house but you have to foot the bill. Believe me, only the very rich can do so.

Check satellite. You can usually get it through them. It won't be cheap, it won't be great, but it will get you internet service.

It's got to be one of the costliest services for the speed they provide, which isn't good. That is the only alternative for satellite? It wouldn't surprise me. If you have good cell service you might be better off with that.

We had to go with HughesNet, not the greatest but it was our only choice. They put a satellite dish on our roof. We had to sign a two year contract ( $75.00 a month ) and hopefully something else will be around by that time. We can breat the contract but have to pay $300.00 to do so. Good luck in your search, hope you find something.

You should check on an aircard for your computer through one of the cell phone providers. I use a Verizon aircard where I live. It is not as good as broadband, but is better than a satellite.

As I understand the situation, it is the upload speed that is very slow with a satellite.

And you may want to research satellite providers. They are not all the same.
