I am looking at moving to TN; however, I do no want to move to another place where there are absolutely no animal ordinances protecting the dogs and cats and where there is an over population of animals that are killed without conscience. I am looking for strict animal ordinances and enforcement. What town/cities should I look at?

IMO-You would be better off in the CITY of Knoxville or in the CITY of Chattanooga ! As long as it is right in one of the bigger CITIES.

I don't think Tn. fits at all.

I dont think that TN fits either, but perhaps within the city limits of the largest cities.

California. Perhaps Los Angeles. Most of Tennessee still holds on to its farming and hunting roots. We are largely conservative so like to hang onto our freedoms and do not welcome excessive government ordinances, enforcements and control.

Well said 2 mares! I was at a loss how to say that, especially when the words"strict ordinances" and Tn. is used in the same sentence.

I tried to do a search on questions asked by the OP. This doesn't specifically relate to that but it is interesting information none-the-less so wanted to share it:

Animal Abuse Database - Search Results | Pet-Abuse.Com Animal Cruelty Database

You can plug in any state and find the same info.

Strict ordinances means control the number of unwanted, abused, neglected dogs and cats rather than killing thousands of them in local shelters. I don't know how that restricts anyone's freedoms.

Thanks, juneaubound. I guess TN isn't what I want. I am living in a state now that is a waste of time and my tax money. Will look somewhere else. Inhumane treatment to animals is a good indicator that humans would do the same thing to anyone or anything dependent on them. I don't need to live and retire in an area that is the same as where I live now.

You asked a question and we took the time to answer. Why slam the state and editorialize? When people wander around looking for a geographical cure I am reminded that no matter where you go, there you are.
