Live on the Carolina coast and am looking to move to TN. I am in the clerical job field. Will be looking to rent an apt over buying a house right now. Have no kids in school so that is not an issue. Hoping for a low crime area with a reasonable cost of living and with at least the possibility of finding a job within a few months. I'm not wanting a super large city but at least close enough to a town with sufficient shopping etc. Having lived for so many years on the coast....I am really wanting a place that is green and provides lots of scenery and at least has a bit of each of the four seasons. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Just to give an idea, I've been investigating the Johnson City vs Chattanooga areas. Any and all input would be great :-)

Chattanooga is a bit warmer than Johnson City but it isn't a big difference. Both are a bit cooler than the Carolina coast but of course it depends on exactly where you are now. Chattanooga is bigger, has more things to do and more job opportunities. It is a bit more expensive. You really need to travel to both and see what fits then apply for jobs and see who bites.
