Spring has been wacky, very wet early on then weve swing from highs in the 90s ot lows in the 30s yesterday i was out in a light t-shirt, today im snuggled on the couch in 2 sweaters with a hot drink...but still its been very workable.
the skeeters THUS FAR have been smaller and less agressive than those in CT... cant say if thats the normal or if it will remain during th summer but CT skeeters are MEAN! by this time of year we wouldnt be outside in ct about 2 hours before and after sunset...here i find they get realy agressive right at sunset and then seem to vamoos just as quickly.
Religion wise...im pagan, i was worried lol. but beyond the occasional "hey if youd like to come to our church" ive had NO problems, i wear my pentacle but im not in your face and tend to avoid talk of religion in general. i take the "god bless" with a pinch of salt i know its meant in a positive way...
but ive had no pushyness, no agressiveness and no "soul saving" yet...again theres time, im still new. lol.

But im in rural west tn so it might be completly different in E.TN
I think you left out the most important information. As a transplant from New England, who are you going to cheer for when the Patriots play the Titans????

Might want to ask the native Tennesseeans who they're rooting for: the Titans or the Broncos, too.

You'll get a smattering of opinion, though alas they don't play head-to-head this coming year.

I had my air conditioner on in March this year. It won't get turned off until mid-October.

Not quite here, either. It's hit 88 a few times and this has certainly been a warmer spring - and winter! - than usual, but it's not unbearable. Some folks don't like the heat and probably shouldn't be living in the southeast. It's going to get to 86 today, be 85 on Saturday and Sunday, then we are looking at the high 70s for next week. Great weather in my opinion. I've rarely used my A/C so far this year. In fact it was downright nippy a couple of weeks ago. Lows in the 30s at night. If you got your A/C on during that you might want to move to Alaska!

i caved tonight and put th AC on for an hour just to take the heat out of the house, not bad for a day in the 90's, that 1 hour chilled the house enough to make it comfortable and should be fine for sleeping tonight

Yesterday the high was 81, last Thursday it was 86. I popped the air on for a very short time. It is suppose to get to 87 degrees.

Right now - 11:43 a.m. EST - it 76 with a heat index of 78.

Finger, TN is definitely warmer, with a much higher heat index as well.
