That's not what I was expecting to see.
I wonder how many of those will be bought as gag gifts for UT fans.

Yes, they will. I think it is adorable!

When I first saw the title of the thread I thought you were referring to this!

From the ad only 4 Universities were selected.. give it 100 years with the original carton and it will be worth a fortune.

I am pretty sure this one has been around for years. One of my stepfather's former colleagues had found one of those and gave my mom it years ago. Mom didn't really care for Barbies, so she gave it to a little girl, I think one of her great-nieces in Tennessee.

Whether your mom likes Barbie is immaterial. There's a 1997 UT Barbie on eBay right now and it is going for $34.95. As TinMan says, give it sometime and make sure it is in the original box and it will be worth something.

How collectable it will be will depend on how many are made.

The 1997 ones is so pretty. I know they are supposed to be worth one day.

That's true. Also how many are left, if they are sought after and the condition.

A 1990 Bob Mackie Barbie goes for anywhere from $150 to $600. And vintage Barbies, even though there were a lot of them at one time, can sometimes command $5,000.

Supply and demand, as usual.
