Will be looking for courts to play in if I retire there. I've played on the lawn before, or at the beach; even in hotel hallways. much prefer a bocce court though.

It's a BIG state. Do you have an area/town narrowed down, or is it totally dependent on bocce courts??

I remember Chattanooga having some cool courts overlooking the river.

Brentwood, Franklin, Chattanooga & Memphis have bocce courts.

The closest thing I could find near there is a club from Fairfield Glade, probably composed of FG residents. It's a planned retirement community.

Depot Street Brewing in Jonesborough has a great court.

If you decide to retire in the Johnson City area I would check out the court and enjoy some of their beer!

Those are marketed to out-of-staters at prices FAR above the average cost for locals. There has been some controversy with these types of places. They have Joe Namath or Erik Estrada pitch these through an infomercial, then they bring you down, give you the hard sell and you find out you paid far more than the lot is worth. Buyer beware!
