For the people on this forum that live in Cumberland County that have a well how's the water? Do you need too treat your water for Iron - Sediment - Sulfur - or other impurities. If you use a water softener do you lease or purchase out right. If I may ask.... If you do lease what cost is their and what does that company provide.
If your not located in Cumberland County I would still like too know "How's your well water......

My X-inlaws lived in west Cumberland County and had the absolute worst well water I've ever tasted (or smelled). It should have been treated/filtered but they never did that. My daugher & son-in-law have a well (northern part of county) but don't use it so I'm not sure how that water is. Must not have been good or they wouldn't have connected to Catoosa.

Thanks..... I'm also looking at property in that area....... and inquiring minds need too know this stuff on well water and natural gas and mineral rights......

I have well water, and live next to Catoosa. The water is great, no chlorine taste. It does have a lot of iron. So I use an aireator and water softener. If municipal water is available, you "have to tie into it" . They just extended it down the road from me and people have 5 years to tie into it. I'm glad it's still to far away from me.....

Cumberland is a good size county, so the well situation can vary. I live in the west end of the county where there use to be alot of mining. I have a great well and dont do anything to the water, but I am the exception in the area (my grandfather witched the well where two streams cross). My neighbors just tied into the "city" water this year. They had problems of running out of water and iron content.
