Starting this week, people throughout the country will be able to carry the Great Smoky Mountains National Park around with them.

The nation’s most visited national park will grace the back of a commemorative U.S. Mint quarter that makes its debut at a 10 a.m. Wednesday ceremony in the Gatlinburg Convention Center’s Mills Auditorium.

The quarter’s reverse side depicts a log cabin, a split-rail fence, a segment of forest, a hawk circling above and mountains in the background — plus the name of just one state: Tennessee.

I "Like" the Great smoky Mountain National Park page on Facebook. They posted a photo the other day of a cabin--I believe it's the exact one used on that quarter (or at least they are very similar). The photo also showed the split-rail fence.

I looked again. That is an image of a real cabin in the Smokys. I would have preferred an image of just the mountains and scenery myself.
