Another area that has had substantial growth over the past 25 years has been Cumberland County/Crossville. An incredible number of full-time (self sufficient) retirees have moved into their community. You'll see them in top 25 one day.

If all those people building homes in Sevierville were to actually live there year-round, I think Sevierville would probably be one of the 15 largest cities in Tennessee. Sevierville already has more retail than most larger towns in Tennessee. And more traffic, too, unfortunately...

Interesting that E. Brainerd (according to CD) has a population of around 40,000 and Hixson has a population of around 37,000 and I am sure other suburbs of Chattanooga are up there in number, but not represented? Are these only cities or are towns included, as well?

The Census figures are only for incorporated places.
City-data.com has East Brainerd's population as 14,132 and doesn't have a population figure for Hixson. Here's what it says for Hamilton County:
"Cities in this county include: Chattanooga, East Ridge, East Brainerd, Red Bank, Middle Valley, Soddy-Daisy, Harrison, Signal Mountain, Collegedale, Ooltewah."

That's not that strange since the link you provided is for the entire 37421 ZIP code and not just Hixson. Since there's no such thing as the "city of Hixson" or the "town of Hixson" it doesn't have its own page here at city-data.

And one thing that is misleading about Bristol, TN's population is that is the # for Bristol on the Tennessee side... Bristol is actually in TN and VA - which makes total city population near 50,000. So, Bristol is really "double" in size than what those figures show. I guess thats the odd thing about having one city split in two states.
