Before going into searching for property, do realize that Hohenwald is a couple of counties into Middle Tennessee, and is actually not close to Jackson. Instead, it is 45 minutes or so west of Columbia (a little smaller than Jackson, but not by that much), and an hour and a half or so drive to Nashville, which has all of what you'd need and much more.

That said, it does have a Super Wal-Mart (I'll let someone else vouch for quality). Most would also say that it's generally prettier out that way than in West Tennessee, and Hohenwald seems to be a tad less tornado-prone (though not by much).

Thats what I was thinking. Hohenwald is much closer to Clarksville then it is Jackson.

Perhaps big sandy, Henry county areas would hold what the op was looking for, but I don't think Hohenwald is it.

Thanks - I checked out the listing (craigslist) and it doesn't look like a very wooded property. The pictures were so fuzzy that it was hard to see the inside of the house. This outside of the house looks fantastic. I contacted them and asked for more information. If they aren't on Zillow, they should be. It is free to list there.

Yea, I know. I liked the first one better also.

561 Old Pinson Rd
Jackson, TN 38301

Hard to find mini farms, for sale, in good condition, in the right place, at the right time.
best of luck

It should be within 20 minutes of a Super Walmart and medical facilities. We are in our 70's and will eventually have a need for that. We definitely want 'secluded'. Does anyone have ideas of where we should start our search and know of a good Realtor who could show us around?

one word. Zillow.

We are pretty serious about a home/acreage in (near) Pinson. Any information or ideas?

Might consider a little further south near Chickasaw state park.
