my boyfriend and i are looking to move to the kingsport/johnson city area this coming may... at that time, we will have a newborn, we are moving from central florida and have both decided we need a change and want to raise the baby somewhere else.

we have a few friends who live in the area but i want other people's opinions on the area.

i was just wondering about a few things:

what are a few good areas to look at for renting a home/apartment (we are only 23/25 and not wanting to buy a house right away)?

and is employment able to be found, we both have experience in sales and office work?

any input would be appreciated.

johnson city is nice, but, when we were there in july we checked around and the jobs are pretty scarce. we are also moving from florida to tennessee, but, after visiting the oak ridge area we fell in love with it. there are more opportunities there and the people are awesome too. even walmart is clean!

Have you checked out the newspapers in the Tri-Cities area to see if there are jobs and housing that appeal to you? That would be my suggestion. I live just North of Tri-Cities and we LOVE it here!
