This might sound like a silly question: I know the mosquitos are pretty bad in the summer but I am curious if there is a need to wear a mosquito repellant daily/year round? Thanks!

Maybe for ticks, not for skeeters so much I would think.

I here the chiggers are what you have too watch out for. When I was their last June I used DEET on my boots and pant legs for the chiggers.......

Only if you're planning on living like Grizzly Adams.

If you're going to be out hiking the hills and dales, or camping, or fishing, or something like that, you might consider using a mosquito repellent. Other than that, no, you won't have to put on DEET. Mosquitoes can be bad at certain times, and in certain areas, but they're not that much of a problem generally. The only other problem you could have with them is if you like sitting outside in the evening. Even that will depend on the area you live.

Year round?? Nooooooooooo! Everyday during mosquito season? Probably not unless you are out in it to that extent. I never use DEET, my skin is very sensitive; there are other alternatives to that product. But that is another post entirely.

Oh, I missed the "year round" part. Definitely not year round. Summers only, if at all.

Late summers especially, and especially around 6pm. If you're gonna sit on your porch, you gotta use something. And them 'skeeter candles' don't work!!!!!

At least here in NETN, that is the case.

There is something about picking vegetables from my garden that leaves me covered in mosquito bites if I am not careful. Mosquito season is indeed the latter part of summer and the early part of fall.
