My family and I are looking to leave California again, hoping to be leaving summer 2017. The eastern Tenn area is on the top of our list. My question is how easy or difficult it will be for me to find a job. I work in the Medical field, right now as a front office lead, referral coordinator and workers comp clerk in an Orthopedic surgery and Sports Med office. Are there a lot of Medical office jobs in the area. My husband has a recruiter for what he does and if he has an opportunity there, it is our first choice. We will also have our daughter with us, who will be starting her Jr year in High School fall 2017, how are the high schools in the area. We will be looking to rent, and want to be not to far from outside activities, such as hiking, and camping. We don't want to live in the center of a city, however being fairly close for activities of a teenaged girl, such as shopping malls, movies, music and art. Any ideas or suggestions?

Johnson City has what you are looking for in terms of medical jobs, good schools, and very close to outdoor activities combined with decent restaurants, shopping, arts, and diversity (at least diverse for Northeast TN). Might be worth a closer look.

Johnson City would fit the bill to an extent, provided you adjust expectations on shopping, fine arts, etc.

Have you ever been to northeast Tennessee? Where do you live in California now?

Thumbs up I-75 Cleveland area.

This same info request is on the Chattanooga board from a South Florida parent......We live on the west side of lake, so not aware of the future projects,,,,but another member posted the name of Cambridge Square shopping complex as a new concept. This should be a good community draw going forward. IMO.?
..... " If you want to be really close to Publix and between Hamilton Place and Cleveland, I suggest you look at the section of Ooltewah west of I-75. There are several subdivisions, some with lake access. Mitchell Mill, which is right across Snow Hill Rd. from the new Publix and shopping center is a nice older gated community. That area is just starting to take off, and on the opposite side of the Interstate, a new "town center" type shopping center called Cambridge Square is under construction. Also check out Crystal Brook in Apison and Twin Lakes in Collegedale. They are all planned communities....."
