Is it Martin College or University of Tennessee-Martin?

If it's UTM, it's not very close to anything, a bit closer to Nashville but some people from UTM also fly into Memphis.

If it's Martin College, it's closer to Nashville but not far from Huntsville, Alabama.

Either way, it's a safe place, both are located in very small towns.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your request, I only recently found the forum. Our son is a student at UT Martin. We live in Paris, about 30 miles away. It is a safe area. Typical small town .

If I can answer any other questions, please let me know.

Oh, also the closest airport with scheduled service would be Jackson, Tn. about 30-45 minutes by car.

That's pretty funny. The Jackson airport has a grand total of two daily flights, both go to Saint Louis. That's according to the airport's web site.

My husband is going to UTM for an interview. They closest airports are Paducah, KY; nashville, TN; Memphis, TN. Paducah is the shortest drive. We had to do Memphis because of the timelines.

My daughter went to UT Martin as well! As a mother, i felt very safe in leaving her there because of the small community feel in the campus, the caring faculty, and the town itself. I would recommend it to anyone. Also, i think Paducah is only about 45min - 1 hr away, probably shortest distance airport.
