I some what think it could be restored. It would take signatures and making a stand with your state representatives and local news media. To draw attention too the fact that a piece of history is decaying away. Even building a enclosure over the remaining portion and doing restoration. They put a enclosure over a Hopi Indian site out west why not a covered bridge.
And having a tornado do the damage. Just show us who's in charge, It's going to be a tornado or hurricane or lightning. Or what ever, when it happens it happens......

It is also against the law to take anything off railroad property. If caught you will be arrested for stealing from the railroad. last year there were 3 teenagers here in robertson county that were arrested for picking up the spikes that were laying on the side of the tracks. Even though they had been tossed asided they stilled belonged to the railroad. The teenagers had to do so many hours of community service. So I wouldn't advise anyone to take anything from the tracks. I didn't know this was against the law either but it is.

You really felt the need to quote me to warn against actually pulling up railroad ties?

Just in case anyone missed it . . . I was kidding.

Just as an aside--my wife and I toured the covered bridges in Indiana and Tennessee. WOW! No craftwork like that anymore!
