Hello there,
Is Nashville where most of the tech companies would be?
Or do one of the other cities have more tech companies?
Thanks!

Nashville will probably have the most given its larger size. Chattanooga also has a well-developed tech scene for a small city you may want to look into.

It depends on what you mean by "tech". For example, Oak Ridge has a lot of 'tech' companies supporting the Oak Ridge National Labs (nuke stuff). The great 'tech' company SAIC has an IT center in Cookeville (disclosure: I used to work for SAIC, however not there). TVA is headquartered in Knoxville and runs many energy projects including nuclear, hydroelectric, and coal.

Many of the companies hiring developers aren’t “tech companies” but just businesses from all industries such as insurance, health care, mortgage companies etc.

Just do a keyword search on Indeed.com. Developers are getting hired all over middle TN.

Oak Ridge is also an incubator of sorts for all kinds of cutting edge technologies, not just "nuke stuff".
