Putnam county there is no mandate, only a request to wear them. One thing though, most stores are requiring a mask to enter.

I find that even though most stores have a sign requiring them, no one enforces it. I personally will wear a mask in any store I go in. I just think it is smart to do. Please don't bash my personal choice.

Why would you base your decision on where to move on a situation that is temporary? What if you move to a county with no mask requirement, and that situation changes in a few weeks because they have a new Covid-19 outbreak? Move again? Would you avoid moving to an area that is otherwise your dream home just because masks are currently required...and that requirement could go away at any time?

Wait a few days. Gov Lee has lifted the statewide order. Your county may be different.

What part of the state are you in now? Most counties do not have them. Mask mandates typically exist in urban areas where there are a lot of democrats. Masks and COVID fear is a liberal thing. Look for the most conservative county in your part of the state and they likely will not have a mask mandate. Most conservative places will not enact one and they would likely refuse to enforce a statewide or even national mask mandate anyway.

Like it or not the whole coronavirus thing is political.

Mask mandates, lockdowns, flatten the curve etc....all democrat
Freedom, mask and lockdown defiance, herd immunity....all republican

Make sure you are in a community that shares your political ideology and I am sure you will find what your looking for.

For the OP, I ran up to Fayetteville in Lincoln county and didn't see anyone wearing a mask. I didn't go to the Wal-mart to see if they were requiring people to wear masks (mainly because their sales tax is 4% higher than the town I live in...) but the other two places didn't require masks. They do have signs encouraging social distancing, and there was hand sanitizer available if one wanted it.

The kids have been back in school since August, with very few cases, and everything seems to be running as normal in town.

Nice town too, with lots of nice and friendly people. Pretty much all republican too...

LOL.
