I wonder if the state is going to change the name of Saturn Parkway, since Saturns are not built at the plant in Spring Hill anymore. I wished Saturn stayed in business in Tennessee because the first cars, one of which I still own, are the best in reliability. I have a 93 SC2 still going strong!

i doubt it. even if it was "officially" changed, everyone that lives there would still call it that.

besides, "State Route 396" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

You are right about that. We still call that big hotel/mall complex on Briley Parkway "Opryland", even though the park has been gone for years.

I was in Tennessee from October 27th through November 4th. On October 31st and November 1st, I saw the Coopertown police mentioned earlier sitting on an on-ramp to Interstate 24. I drove through this area 4 times and actually saw that he had pulled over a car on Interstate 24. I also saw more than one Tennessee State Trooper parked in the center median on Interstate 40 between Cookeville and Crossville. I saw one of them pull over a large commercial van that had passed me up going at least 80 mph. I used my cruise control and kept my speed at about 4 miles per hour over the speed limit and was not pulled over.

TN State Trooper D. Inman works Bedford county also from there toward Woodbury in Cannon County. Loves to search for contraband also, 90% of his pull overs result in a search.

Default Route 111 North/South of I-40

For a few miles north and south of where it crosses I-40 near Cookeville, Route 111, a wide, level and straight 4 lane road has a 55 mph limit. Most of the road further north and south is posted at 70mph but the area close to I-40 with its 55mph limit is Radar City and is a major contributor to the state's revenue. Your contribution could be next unless you're careful. Beware!

I-40 as it crosses from Knox County into Sevier County. Got my first ticket there.

Also, off the interstate, a few areas that only locals will know. Sunset Drive in Johnson City. Also, University Parkway drops from 45 to 30 suddenly when you reach the university. Got my latest ticket there (on my birthday no less ).
