Could anyone tell me if the Springbrook B & B is still open?

I heard a rumor that the man and his wife that ran it, kind of went "crazy" after their BIG horse died and divorced and it closed down.

I know they were alcoholics, because my friend's kids took lessons there and she said there were always beer bottles all over the place (needless to say she took her kids elsewhere, but she doesn't know if this is true or not)

They don't ever update their website.

thanks

Well it's a long distance call for me. I live a couple of states away. What am I gonna say? Hi, I heard you closed down? Then they'll ask where I heard that, and what do I say?

I just thought someone might know and be able to give me a simple yes or no, they're around or they're not.

Tried to email them, but havent' gotten a reply either.

This is a good layover for trips north with a horse and i'd kinda like to know if they're still there.

Or if anyone's been there lately - and could tell me if it's STILL a good place to stop for the night or did they really go "nuts" and.........

I just phoned and spoke with the co-owner of the Springbrook B & B and we had a delightful conversation. She certainly sounded of sound mind to me and was most gracious. She said that Tina, the horse, passed away this past March but she certainly was even keeled in her emotions and her demeanor. She said that they are still open and doing well. A most pleasant conversation.

I also want to interject that stating on the internet that one "knows" that someone is an alcoholic opens oneself up to liability. Every single post on here is searchable by a variety of search engines. I hesitate to believe that someone is an alcoholic because of beer bottles present. My motherload of pots and pans doesn't mean I cook.

I don't know if it is still a good place to stay overnight or not, but at least I answered your question that it is indeed still open.

I see now where it is for sale. "Illness in the family" is listed as reason for some of the horses being for sale.

Sigh - it was a nice place to layover on the way to/from shows
