PUTNAM COUNTY -- School may have already started here in Putnam County, but a tax free holiday set for this weekend could provide some parents a break on back-to-school shopping.

Starting Friday just after midnight and ending just before midnight Sunday, the tax holiday will save shoppers nearly 10 percent on clothing, school and art supplies and computer purchases.

Oh my goodness, when do they start back to school. I thought the beginning of August was too soon.

WKRN in Nashville had a story that basically stated this will probably be the last tax-free weekend they'll offer since the state is below budget on tax collections.

Memphis news told over the weekend that they will not do it again until next August. The last two years, we have had them in April also, but the tax revenue is down so they've decided to kill the spring tax free weekend, but offer it again for back to school savings in 2009.
