Hi,

I currently live in Pennsylvania, 20 minutes south of Philadelphia, and thinking about relocating to Tennessee. I've been trying to gather as much info as possible, and wondering about a couple of things:

1. Which areas seem to have the lowest crime rate?
2. What's the overall job market like?
3. Which areas seem to have the most active population in terms of staying in shape, i.e. hiking, biking, etc?
4. Which areas have the most to offer culturally?
5. What are the women like? (I'm a single guy).

Thank you.

Tennessee has huge differences among its different areas. We range from the very rural to the very urban, and even divide the state between East, Middle, and West to recognize cultural and historical differences.

You'll need to narrow your question down a little -- what's true for one area may be the opposite for another.

Some starters:
What can you spend for housing?
Are you interested in rural, urban, suburban?
What kind of work would you be looking for?

In regards to housing, I would be renting an apartment, and thinking of the $600 - $900 range, preferably in the suburbs. Most of the work I've done is in an administrative capacity, and I'm good with computers (Microsoft Office). Also a musician. Thank you.

Nashville is definitely your answer especially if you are a musician. Brentwood has the lowest crime rate for a suburb in that area, Franklin also has good stats for that. You can definitely find an apartment in your price range in either place. Singles scene is great here in Nashville, gorgeous southern women (not to toot my own horn). Dell has a big presence here and Nashville was named one of the top 5 best places to live as far as employment was concerned in 2007. Brentwood was named one of the skinniest places to live in the US. Which is an anomaly to the rest of the southern states and this one in general--so I would guess that would mean it is one of the "fitter" (more fit???) places to be in TN. Good luck!
