I went through Tennessee on my way to Florida, and I loved it. There was a lot to see and the people were awesome, willing to help out and always greeting with a warm smile. Safe to say that Southern Hospitality is a true claim, at least in your state (The folks in Georgia weren't quite so friendly).
I didn't expect Tennessee to be so mountainous, but that's just my ignorance. My car overheated in the steep climb near alto on I-24

Ahhh. That would be Monteagle Mountain.... it gets lots of people... It's surprisingly steep and seems to sneak up on drivers. The way down is hard on brakes too.
