Well, i'm back . .safe and sound .

First we went to big sandy . . Saw it on the map and had heard about it from a friend . . There was a 'ferry ' .. We drove 11 miles to find it .. We did . .. ./???? Saw it too . . . But didn't know where it went . .or how much . So we turned around and made our way to paris . .

Saw the eiffel tower . .very n ice . . Great duplicate .. Tho small . .
Drove around the town for about an hr . .and t hen decided to move on to clarksville .. .

Much bigger town than paris , and adamsville for that matter . . (my home ) ..
Slept there , found a great karaoke bar ''the lodge'' and had a ball singing and dancing ..

Next am, noticed that nashville was 'only' 43 miles away . .so off we went . .
Saw the grand ol opry . .in the a.m. So we did nt 'get to go inside. . But we did wander around the store they have. .
Couldnt 'afford anything tho . Ha

then wen t to the greatest restaurant i've ever seen . . 'the aquarium' .. . Wow !!! Absolutely in credible .. Loved it . . Looks like you're walking around underwater.. The colors are great . .and the fish are beautiful .

Then went on the general jackson showboat .(paddleboat) . . What a trip that was !!! Went on the evening ride cause we missed the morning one gawking at the aquarium . .
What a great trip that was at nite .. It took us all the way to 'downtown' nashville an d we got to take pix of the skyline at nite . . Just beautiful ..

Then today, we left an d stopped at the nashville zoo . . Unfortunately, it was hot . .and with my bum leg its difficult to walk far or for long periods of time . So i hobbled around the best i could for an hr and a half . And it was well worth it .

On the way to the zoo , we found my 'real' favorite rest . . From the old days in n.y ... . White castle .. Omg .. . Had them for breakfast this am . . .4 of them eac h ..
They dont' sell them here in adamsville . .so i asked if i could have the corporate # and t he lady gave it to me . . I will be callin g on tues (after the holiday) to order a few dozen . My brother an d i love them

so all i n all , i nice trip . . Thanks for all the suggestions ..

Saw the signs of 'early fall' . All the way there and back . . Will be taking another trip in the next few wks . .when everything is really in full foliage .. Cant' wait ..

Have a great weekend all .

Jeanne

Sounds like you had a great time. When we found a White Castle in Hendersonville, my husband drove right in like a little kid. Amazing how food stirs up so many memories of NY.

Hi tamor, barb, and suzanne,
yep . .we love w.c burgers .. Used to be able to buy them in publix in fla . .but alas, , not here in adamsville .
The lady at the counter said that they do send them to krogers , and ive certainly got a kroger's , so i w ill be asking them also if they'll order them . .
Yes, they do bring back memories of the old days .. When a bunch of us used to meet at 5;30 am at '' the castle' and buy 50 of them . .to eat on the way to the track in long island . Of course , im talking about 40 yrs ago .
When i was young , c arefree and a hotrodder . .
They're stil l a bargain . .59c for one .. Not bad . . And nothing tastes anything like them . .
I remember when i first moved to fla in 95, i took a trip back to bklyn a yr later and as i was crossing the verrazano bridge , i remembered where a castle was . . I opened the place up . At 6am .. And ate them for breakfast .. So yesterday was not a first ..

Probably not that great for the arteries or the hips .. But what the hey ' . . Ya only have one life , right ?

Have agreat weekend all . . And tammy, i hope to hear from you . .
I'm loving my new little town .
Jeanne
