When I first started the thread asking about the flu and kids in Tennessee, there had been one child that had died from it here in Minnesota.
Now, there have been five deaths.
Yesterday, it was another 8 year old, who had had the flu shot, but, also had other complications and an adult, a 44 year old firefighter.

A lot of parents have gotten panicky and even though, their children have gotten the flu shot, they are trying to get them shots again.
The strain is the AH1 flu strain.

How is the situation with kids in Tennessee now?
Is the flu there still pretty mild?
The health department isn't issuing any alerts here, but, they are giving free flu shots for people that don't have insurance, and reduced rates for those that do.

Scary. I tell ya, I'm more afraid of antibiotic-resistance than what's on the front pages these days. My kids and I got FluMist again this year. It's a gamble, though. They can't always predict which strains will spread. An 8 year-old, huh? That's just heartbreaking.

Oscilicoccinum is ALWAYS in my cabinet. Given at the first sign of the flu, it can be highly effective. Worth a shot, I say.

Actually, it was two 8 year olds, two babies and the one adult.
