" You left your socks "in" the floor again" To me, it is "on" the floor, not "in". The other (which I always tease him about) is "Cut that light off (or on)?"

Do you wait "IN" line or "ON" line?
I leave my socks on the floor, but, strangely, for me people fall "in the floor," when they fall down.

I wait in line at Walmart but online when Adelphia/Comcast/Turner/whatever the hell it is now goes wonkey!

Hey I got one for ya. . . "I'm "fixin" to go to the store". I'm originally from Ohio (Cleveland), moved to TN (Chattanooga), now out here in AZ and I still call a "coke" a "pop", and still say "you guys" instead of "y'all". Tried grits, can't stand em. My child says thank you and please, and your welcome all the time and the other parents out here say he is so polite. I didn't teach him to add the "mam, sir" part. Don't hear too many kids saying the thank you's etc here.

I heard the reason bagels are better in some parts of the country is the water, too, not the way they are made. There is a bagel place in my soon to be new TN town. I'll have to check.

They have bagels in Oak Ridge. First pirogies and now bagels. I'm going to have to stay away from that place.

When I lived in Michigan, everyone was, "YOUSE GUYS." They think we talk "funny" down in Tennessee.

One lady asked me where I was from? When I replied that I was from Tennessee, a lady stated, "oh, youse guys talk funny down dere."

When I lived in the U.P. everyone said "Eh!" at the end of their sentences.
If you watch some of those Canadian serials late at night, they talk the same way.

"Scat Tom--Your tail's in the gravy"
I always heard that one as Scat Cat, tail's in the gravy! Always wondered about that one too.

In addition to you-uns, I've also heard we-uns, like if you-uns is gonna be there, we-uns is going too!

Well, I have to jump in here. Have lived in Oak Ridge for 14 months, born and raised in New Orleans; lived 20 years in Mississppi. To me, carbonated beverages are "soft drinks"; the item in which one conveys food items around the grocery store is a "basket"; we "make" groceries and gravy is ALWAYS brown! Never knew what a "sub" was until Subways got popular; we ate "muffalettas" back home. Ya'll have a nice day now, ya hear.
