I think I pay about $40 for a cut-your own. Been going here for a few years. I think I'm going to go with a couple of Frasier firs, which they cut in North Carolina and truck over.

Bluebird Christmas Tree Farm - Cut Your Own Tree and Fresh Fraser Firs - Knoxville, TN

This gives you a good list.

I found a place in Murfreesboro, about an hour and a half from me. Worth the drive! And they have wreaths, garland, hayrides, etc. Pretty cool place!

And..........

How Real Trees Help Our Environment

During their growing process, Real Trees rid the air of carbon dioxide and release oxygen for people and animals to breathe.

The roots and needles of Real Trees help hold soil in place.

Real Trees can be recycled (1) by chipping them into mulch and also (2) by putting them in lakes to provide a place where fish can live and grow. (See "Recycling Locations").

Real Trees also can be set upright in your yard as a bird feeder with food (such as suet or seed balls) attached.

Real Trees provide a home for wildlife. Birds build their nests in trees, and rabbits make their nests in the pine straw under trees. Deer also use trees to protect them from being seen.

We wanted to cut our own this year, but everyone has been so busy that we just threw up the "fake" one.

Maybe next year.

Well, this isn't listed but when I lived on Long Island we used to bring our tree to the beach after we took it down (no tinsel) and they used them to shore up the dunes and prevent erosion. I'm thinking that's not needed here in Tennessee but does anyone sink them for fishing structure?

Here in Nashville people can take them to some of the parks and they will chip them up to make mulch for the trails in the park.

We did go get ours from the Christmas tree farm and it was packed!!! I couldn't believe how many people were there!

It's a gorgeous tree and it was a nice day for the family. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of going to one!

When my youngest daughter was very little, we would take her out to the tree farm every year. She was so tiny, her little boots barely cleared the snow as we walked around trying to find a tree.

We eventually would have to pick her up and carry her, but we always let her pick out the tree, no matter how scrawny it may have looked.
To her it was the most beautiful tree in the world.
