Here are some sites for those wanting info on schools:

This site gives a national comparison of schools. It contains information on both public and private schools and comments from parents and students.

This site gives information on Tennessee public schools and school districts. It provides test scores as well as statistical information.

In addition to test scores and statistics, I would look at how much money goes into a school district. Compare the per student expenditure. This gives you an idea of whether the local government sees education as a priority.
