There are a lot of Scotch-Irish that settled in the hills of East Tennessee. They brought their music with them, and it eventually evolved to the country music that put Nashville on the map. They brought their matter-of-fact attitude, hard-working ethic, and love of the land with them to Tennessee. It has remained.

To everyone, Irish or not:

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Or as my Irish-Boston grandpa would say:

You can tell an Irishman, but you can't tell him much!

Erin Go Braugh!

Speaking of Irishman..

My old boss needs me to cut steel immediately. He's Irish as they come, with accent and all. His name's Donough. I bet you know how to pronounce that napster. Work is work and I'm thankful for it, but this is really complicating my plans to visit Knoxville. I just looked at the weather forecast there and it's gonna be like PERFECT for 10 days straight.

Anyway, happy SP day hiknapster!

I sure can pronounce it... DUNNUH!

You'll get down here, sweetpea. Keep the faith and thanks for responding!

"May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half an hour before the devil knows you're dead."

Beautiful! I hope everyone had a good Saint Patrick's Day. I'm not Irish, either, but I think it's a neat holiday.

And I found out something interesting on the History Channel about Saint Patrick's Day: Tennessee's very own Andrew Jackson was the first Irish president of the United States. I think that's pretty cool.
