I am purchasing a home in Paris, Tenn. and am having trouble finding out very much about this little town. I have read a few comments on another board, and they just trash this little town.

Does anyone have anything good to say about this town????? I am really excited about getting there, and know that there has to be a lot of great things about Paris, I just need to talk to the right people.

Would also love some local photos......none to be found......

Thanks so much!!!!!

For photos go to Google and click on Images in the upper left hand corner. When the Google Images search page comes up, type in "Paris TN"

Have you checked out the local newspaper? It's been quite a while since I've been in Paris so I'm not sure what happens there anymore except the World's Largest Fish Fry...and lots of places to fish and hunt.

Here's the Paris PI link:

morton, blakemore, park, washington are all very respectful streets in the city of paris. i have very close friends who live on both park and blakemore. my grandmother considered purchasing a house on morton, prior to her death. these streets are directly north of veterans parkway. the parkway provides great access to north, west, east, and south paris. churches, grocery stores, retail, and central downtown business district are no more than a mile and a half from these streets. several large estate houses in this area. many are historically significant.

paris boasts a very lovely downtown. it is the county seat of henry county, and therefore, has the county courthouse on the square. there is a farmer's market which sells many locally grown vegetables, fruits, and beans. there are decent restaurants in the area which feature fried catfish (carmacks, knott's landing, paris landing inn), and bar-b-que (trollinger's meats) and a local steakhouse. several chinese restaurants, several mexican restaurants, and some mom 'n pop restaurants which serve home-style food.

as for home repair, i know several reputable contractors who are licensed in the area. they have their recommended handymen. i would be willing to use any of them. i believe inspectors have to be licensed by the state, county, or city---maybe all three. welcome to tn. if i can give additional information you may contact me by dm.
