Extended Unemployment Question (bills, office, pay)

My unemployment is about to run out and I am wondering two things. I'm asking you guys because someone might have been through the same thing and I can't ever get a hold of the unemployment office to TALK to someone.

First, I've read that if your benefits expire within the time of your expiration date then the EU benefits will automatically hit, is this true?

Secondly, when I got mine originally approved I got 24 weeks at the max amount and then one week (the last one) for less than that, if I get the extension will I get the larger or smaller amount?

This is stressing me out because it is significantly less and I still have bills to pay but alas, still no job! Ack! Your help will stop me from pulling my hair out!
