I think we are going to book a Disney vacation through Air Tran, at some point. I really want to give them our business. If we all use that airport, maybe they will expand.

Flying to Florida is pretty easy through TRI. But lots of other places, California, New York etc. can prove MUCH more expensive to fly through TRI. I'd love to give them all my business, but saving $200-$300 (including gas!) by utilizing Knoxville or Charlotte just makes more sense.

I can't get the map to work

If I click on TN it just blinks the state quickly then goes right back to the US map. Yes, I have tried holding down the ctrl and shift keys while clicking, but still can't get it to work. Anyone have another suggestion for me to try?
Anyway, I agree with JMT and Alleycat as far as population growth, I like it to happen slow and manageable. I think all of the Tri-Cities is doing a pretty good job dealing with it for the most part. I hate to see any city/town/area grow very fast, seems to be a set up for a fall when it does happen fast.

People have reported a number of problems with the latest version of EI. I just updated the other day.

I actually use Firefox. I'll switch to EI when I get a chance and see if I have any problem getting the interactive map to work.

I didn't upgrade to the latest for that very reason so don't think that is it.

Edit/add.....Never mind, it is working today, must have been a fluke with the site the other day?

I generally agree with you. And more or less I think we have enough people here to support pretty much anything. I just wish the (socioeconomic) demographics were a bit different so more high-end retail would come in.

I can see that happening as soon as we have a few more higher paying industries come to the area. I think until then, we will just have to wait on it.

With the new education programs in place (14 years and new higher ed centers) maybe the North East TN area will become more enticing to some of those industries, which will bring the rest. But again, taking the process one step at a time with the infrastructure should be priority number 1 to prep for any influx so that things don't spike and drop in any fast rates.
