I'll be retiring in 10 months, and in preparation I've been researching Medicare supplemental plans that are available in Tennessee. Maybe I'm just thick, but the more I read, the more confused I become. One website names Plan J as the most comprehensive, while another states that a combination of other plans is as good, or better, and less expensive. Are there any Tennessee retirees who'd be willing to share their first-hand experiences / recommendations? A deductible of 2 or 3 K per year would be acceptable, but beyond that I'd like to have the security of knowing that I'll be well-taken care of for most medical contingencies without breaking the bank. To further compound the matter, I'm working overseas, and will be until my retirement in June, 2010. Any advice on plans (or combination of plans), as well as on insurance providers, would be greatly appreciated. FYI, I'll be retiring to the greater Nashville area.
