Nothing stays the same. I love the country music of the 60s and 70s, so I don't fault your nostalgia. I just think there's room in the format for all kinds of music.

I can't wait to see the CMAs tonight. Should be one heck of a show!
I love country music today, but I didn't when I was in College here in the 70s. I probably didn't like it because that is all my father had on every day. Recently when I went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, I reconized all the Legends my father listened to.
I do like George Stait though.

Faith Hill was probably worried she's have another tantrum.

Did Miranda Lambert kick butt or what?! Kellie Pickler too. Someone should go teach her mama a lesson. Broke my heart.

I didn't watch it; I'm not much on award shows of any type. There's only so many "Why, shucks, I'm so . . . so surprised to get this award" speeches I can take, especially when their record label spends a couple of hundred thousand dollars campaigning for them.

If I had remembered I would have flipped over to see the Eagles however.

I was sleeping.

Not a big fan of the Pickler. Why? What happened?

She performed a song she co-wrote about being abandoned by her mom, who left for California. She totally broke down at the end, but it felt genuine, not manufactured. It was intense.

I watched the Eagle played a charity baseball game years ago in Nashville. They were "big" at the time, but not nearly as big as they would eventually be.

As I recall, one of their albums and one of Fleetwood Mac's albums were the first albums to cost over a million dollars just to produce. This was in the early 80's sometime.

Was that just for the coke, or did it go to studio costs as well?
