While I am only in the informational searching phase-have not yet even visited Tennessee yet-for many years now I've had this "pull" to eventually settle there(I am leaning, I think, towards the Gatlinburg area..but who knows for sure yet). I'm hoping to be able to take a trip there in afew months for a vacation and check it out. While originally from NY, I moved to South Florida in 2002-at the time it was what I needed to do-but I'm pretty much miserable here and know I need to get out within 2 years or risk losing my mind! My question is about jobs in general but then cruise travel agencies more specifically. I have a wide 'customer service' background(fast food, retail, retail banking, online brokerage) PART of the reason for my move down here was get myself into travel/hospitality. Took a few years but I made my way to sales at a cruise line(didn't like THAT too much, hard to live on commission when new to the industry) but then found a job later on the customer service/operations end of an online (mostly) cruise travel agency and have come to finally feel I'm actually very good at my job after afew years in the industry. Which leads me to wonder if I was to eventually make that move out of here & up there I may have to give up on working this industry and start back somewhere else. Obviously being in a city near a major port has more opportunities! But I need to live somewhere just a LITTLE less chaotic, and while not a huge fan of the cold(another reason for my move down here from NY) I miss seasons, and would like less city more laid back (not TOO laid back, though!)..and SCENERY..dear GOD, scenery!

Anyway, sorry this turned out so long, but in a nutshell, are there local agencies-online based or not-there for this sort of thing? Is there a NEED for cruise vacation sales, therefore, service for them, there at all? I've spent 7 1/2 years in call centers but would like to somehow keep doing what I am doing with servicing people who have booked cruises. I thought I'd start tossing out the questions to various forums/people and get the feedback straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Thanks for taking the time to read this!!
