I hate saying it, but that's been my experience as well...and I love Chattanooga! The kids I've known that have gone there transferred after their freshman year.

I currently have a child at MTSU and have had one at ETSU. Both enjoy/enjoyed it and are glad they went.

One question for the OP...if you are set on getting out of the house, have you considered going to MTSU, but moving out? That would still probably be cheaper than moving out and going to another campus...you'd cut out commutes from another city to Murphreesboro and gain some other benefits. I'll bet you'll be able to do your laundry for free at home and I'll bet you could still wrangle some home-cooked meals. (Don't underestimate how desirable that becomes after some time away from home on your own!)

If you did that, you'd get out of the hose and probably do it cheaper than leaving town for college.

Not surprising. Don't understand why you've felt the need to inform me of that, as if I care, as if that's the topic or what i was saying, or as if I ever went to either.

Unless you failed to clarify Martin on your resume, they will know. Your not going to fool any HR department into thinking your Agriculture degree from UTK is actually from UTM or that you studied at Haslam while attending UTM.
