I don't guess there are any Hanukkah activities going on? Dreidel contests? Anyone? (Sound of crickets).

Here is one that features Hanukkah along with other holiday celebrations (looks like it is for kids):

Press :: Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art, Nashville, TN

A celebration at a temple here in Chattanooga:
Mizpah Congregation, Chattanooga, TN - Holidays

Do you celebrate Hanukkah? Though we are Christian, we light the menorah that DH' grandfather brought back from Israel. Two reasons: Without Judaism, there is no Christianity; it is our foundation. Also, DH's grandfather was Jewish.

I just did a quick search, but if I find more, I will post.

Cheekwood is a nice place to visit, beachbyrd, although I think it's prettier in the spring. If you decide to come for a visit, let me know and I'll get you in free. I'm a supporting member and they give me free tickets that I can hand out. I can always get guests in for free if they're with me, but these tickets can be used by anyone at anytime.

We are Christians (grafted into the original branches) that celebrate biblical holidays such as Hanukkah, the weekly Sabbath, Passover, Tabernacles, etc. We don't celebrate Christmas or have a tree, mainly because of it's origins that originated before Christ. Also He wasn't born in December so we celebrate His birth during the proper time, which is during the Feast of Tabernacles.

Gatlinburg has their Christmas parade this Friday night at 7 p.m. (or it may be 7:30). Since I cannot be there to see it in person I am going to watch it via their webcam. I watched their New year's fireworks and July 4 parade on the web cam. Almost as nice as being there.
