I am working on my FNP degree in Memphis (ughh!) Tennessee, and am looking to complete it in May 2007. I would like to move to East Tennessee and find our Utopia, as my husband wants to retire or go to part time so that he can golf, I want to practice a profession that I love in surroundings that I love (which include hiking trails, biking trails, rafting, etc.), and that my daughter can finish highschool in a beautiful place with low crime rates.(I am also secretly hoping that she finds the great outdoors are a lot more inspiring than watching VH1 and shopping at the malls; which by the way, is about all you can do in Memphis) any suggestions? Also, I am looking for small practices where the Doctors/NPs know the families in the community.

Check out Kingsport and Greeneville, they both sound like they would be more of what you are looking for. Great schools, golfing and Mountain States Health Alliance is doing some WONDERFULL things for the heath care in these areas.
Hope this helps!

Origonally I am from CT, spent about 11 years in Fl and moved to East TN about 10 years ago and I now could not think of living or raising my children any where else! I love East TN! I am in the Tri- Cities area and yes I have children, one out of school heading to college, one starting high school (tommorow is his first day!!!) and one in middle school.
