The Better Architecture: Dallas vs Houston thread got me thinking about architecture in some of Texas' smaller cities.. i see plenty of great architecture every day in my home away from home of Waco, which would probably surprise a few people. and i know there are lots of neat eclectic towns in the state, so i ask you what your favorite (smaller) city for architecture is (ill make a poll when there are a few listed) and to post some examples or pictures of the architecture you like in that particular city.

The poll seems alittle random. Without looking on the map, I don't even know/heard of Gruene before.

this poll list is VERY random.. i just sort of picked a few older or smaller towns that came to mind with hopes that others would help add to it.

Gruene is between san antonio and austin. neat little town..

Great pictures!

Now are you wanting small cities like Beaumont/Waco/Tyler or smaller towns like Fredericksburg/Brenham/Corsicana? Gruene is more like a settlement or a restored ghost town.

Do the towns have to be free-standing from a large city (i.e. not the Woodlands)?

I am interested in this poll because I love to see architecture in small towns.

Me too, which is why I started it. It can be any cities and towns outside of the major metropolitan areas. Nah I wouldn't count the woodlands or Galveston because they are Houston suburbs. It's unfortunate that I can't edit the poll. I shouldn't of started it so early. I wonder if a mod can change it/delete the poll so I can start another one
